I guess you may be right, it's up to me to get us all out of this mess. And the media may be the best way to do that. Blowing this entire thing open seems...risky to me, a lot of chances for something to go really badly wrong really fast, but we're out of options. So the question becomes: How, exactly, do I go about going public and yet, still, keep Gabrielle and Meaghan out of it? Meaghan, at least, could probably be tracked down just from being mentioned on this website. As for Gabrielle, could the police or the courts lock me up if I refused to disclose everything I know? Again, just from what's on this site, I think I could be arrested for obstruction if I refused to tell them anything. And there's the problem of getting the media to listen to me. I have an in, it's true, but will that be enough? I just don't know. You and SoundByte have more experience with this, what do you think?
As I see it, Meaghan isn't really involved more than peripherally in anything the police care about...except as an innocent crime victim. She can be kept pretty much out of it. Gabrielle? She might be more deeply involved in terms of what and who she knows, but then again, as I see it, she's not been a willing and active participant in anything criminal. So I don't see too much risk for her, and don't see why she has to become a public figure.
Now to you. Seems to me you buy safety for everybody by continuing to work closely with the legitimate police and the media in Atlanta and in the Baltimore/DC area. I think you are on the right track now...and it can't hurt to re-establish contact with your media friends. You have an even bigger story to tell now, and you will be your own best spokesman for it.
